David and Patience Mugume serve in gospel ministry in Uganda through preaching, discipleship, church planting, and mercy ministry.
Who We are —
David and Patience Mugume are committed followers of Jesus Christ serving in long-term gospel ministry in Uganda. Our calling is rooted in faithful preaching, discipleship, church planting, leadership development, and holistic community engagement, with a clear commitment to historic Reformed theology and confessional Christianity. Together, we serve Christ through the local church, mercy ministry, leadership development, and strategic missions efforts aimed at long-term gospel fruitfulness in Uganda and the broader East African region. We minister as a family, believing that the gospel shapes not only the church but the whole of life—home, work, community, and mission.
David Mugume currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Zana Community Church, a confessional Reformed congregation located in Kampala, Uganda. Ordained and installed in 2024, David provides pastoral oversight through preaching, discipleship, shepherding, church planting, and leadership development. His ministry is shaped by a deep commitment to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, the doctrines of grace, and the faithful administration of Word and Sacrament.
Patience Mugume serves alongside David as a vital partner in ministry. She is actively involved in women’s discipleship, counseling young women and couples, participating in the church choir, and supporting pastoral ministry through prayer and hospitality. Together, they model family-centered ministry and shared service within the life of the local church. The Mugumes have served in ministry for over fifteen years, walking faithfully with believers, training leaders, and engaging communities with the gospel.

Alliance for Gospel Church Planting and Missions in East Africa (AGCPMEA)
In collaboration with other like-minded pastors, David and Patience are co-founders of the Alliance for Gospel Church Planting and Missions in East Africa (AGCPMEA). This network exists to plant confessional churches, revitalize existing congregations, and train indigenous leaders across Uganda and the wider East African region. AGCPMEA brings together pastors, seminary students, church planters, and international partners for theological training, mentoring, and collaboration. The goal is sustainable, locally led gospel work grounded in sound doctrine and accountable leadership, rather than dependency-driven missions.
The long-term mission of the Alliance for Gospel Church Planting & Missions in East Africa (AGCPMEA) is to plant ten Gospel-centered churches over the next ten years, guided by clear, donor-oriented strategic metrics that emphasize faithfulness, sustainability, and measurable impact. By God’s grace, one church has already been planted in Hoima, Western Uganda, and a second church plant is scheduled to launch in Kasanje, a rapidly developing urban–rural community, in June this year.
Each church begins as a mission plant and progresses toward full organization based on identifiable milestones, including the formation of a trained core team, regular Lord’s Day worship, consistent discipleship structures, local leadership development, and growing financial self-support. Progress is evaluated not merely by numerical growth, but by doctrinal faithfulness, member participation, evangelistic engagement, and the establishment of accountable leadership. This metric-driven yet prayerfully dependent approach allows partners and donors to track progress with clarity while affirming that the timing and fruit of each work ultimately rest in the Lord’s sovereign leading.
Mugume David and Patience are part of the Edgewood Ministries network, which is committed to training and equipping pastors and church leaders across Uganda. Through this partnership, and in collaboration with Edgewood Ministries, we are able to offer Third Millennium training through our Third Millennium Learning Center at Zana Community Church. This initiative directly supports our vision through the Alliance for Gospel Church Planting and Missions in East Africa (AGCPMEA), where we are committed to strengthening churches and advancing church planting by equipping faithful, biblically grounded leaders.
By God’s grace, this work is already taking shape, with several students enrolled and actively receiving theological training and mentorship. We are also preparing to expand this effort by offering additional courses, including a Philosophy of Ministry, particularly for those already serving in their local churches who desire to grow in their theological understanding and ministry effectiveness. Through this work, our aim is to equip leaders with sound, Reformed theology that will bear lasting fruit in the life of the church in Uganda and beyond.
David and Patience Mugume serve under the accountability and financial oversight of the 18:26 Network, ensuring transparency, careful stewardship, and the faithful use of resources.
All support directly sustains pastoral ministry and family needs, church planting efforts, medical outreach, discipleship, and leadership development.
All gifts are processed securely through the 18.26 Network, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit Organization, and are tax-deductible.
